What factors your therapist consider when giving you a direct advice?

Generally speaking, I would not feel comfortable making decisions for my clients except when I’m prescribing medication’s. But as a therapist, one would be justified in making decisions for their clients if they see very clearly that their client is heading towards disaster of any kind. I’ll clarify with a few examples, if the client is doing something illegal or taking extreme risks which can end danger is social life or his life as such step in and make decisions for them like guide them directly . There may be other situations which are not as cut and dry-I’ve Under undergone cycle analysis and my analyst gave me clear directions regarding a medical situation which had not followed, would have resulted in a disaster.

It also depends if the client is looking for clear directions from you and you are convinced that on his own, she would not be able to decide. Better option is Laying out different scenarios and let the patient choose.

I hope I answered your question to the fullest. If you have any further queries, please feel free to write in the comments so that I can respond.
